This project involved the civil and structural engineering works for a 330KV electrical substation, one of the most critical components of Nigeria's high-voltage power transmission network. TSN Limited was responsible for all civil works including site preparation, earthworks, foundation construction, structural steel erection, and equipment plinths. The substation infrastructure was designed and built to support the installation of high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, bus bars, and associated electrical equipment, all constructed in strict compliance with power sector engineering standards and safety regulations.
The 330KV substation required precision-engineered reinforced concrete foundations capable of supporting heavy transformer units and withstanding the dynamic loads generated by high-voltage switching operations. TSN Limited constructed equipment plinths, cable trenches, oil containment bunds, control room buildings, and perimeter fencing to the exact specifications required by the power utility. Structural steel gantries were fabricated and erected to carry overhead bus bars and conductor lines at the specified clearance heights, ensuring full compliance with electrical safety standards for high-voltage installations.
Throughout the project, TSN Limited maintained the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, recognising the hazardous nature of high-voltage infrastructure construction. Rigorous quality control procedures were implemented at every stage, from material procurement and concrete testing through to final inspections and handover documentation. The completed substation stands as a critical node in Nigeria's power transmission grid, and the project demonstrates TSN Limited's capability in delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure works to the exacting standards demanded by the energy sector.
